In Bayelsa, abductors of monarch’s spouse demand N100m ransom

    The abductors of Mrs Tina Inegbagha, the spouse of the paramount ruler of Ayakoro group, Ogbia Local Government Area of Bayelsa, have demanded a ransom of N100 million to free her from captivity.

    Some but to be recognized gunmen, had on Dec. 16, invaded the coastal settlement to abduct the monarch’s spouse and Mr Egele Jack, the Principal of Government Craft Development Centre, Ayakoro.

    Mr Majesty Inegbagha, a member of the monarch’s household, advised NAN in Yenagoa on Friday that the abductors had now contacted the household with the demand.

    “The ruler, who’s my elder brother confirmed that the abductors known as him and demanded for the sum of N100 million.

    “Although, the household is happy to know that the lady is alive, the considered elevating that sum of cash has created further problem to the household,’’ Inegbagha stated.

    He expressed optimism that the ruler’s spouse and the varsity principal would regain their freedom, following prayers and the efforts by safety companies.

    The Commissioner of Police within the state, Mr Asuquo Amba, stated that the incident was being investigated.

    Amba additionally stated that following the upsurge in violent crimes in Bayelsa, the Inspector-General of Police (I-G), Ibrahim Idris, had despatched a particular squad to enhance the efforts of the state police command.
