    Security betrays belief steals mattresses

    A Security guard connected to a Model College in Ojo, Lagos, and two others have been on Friday arraigned in an Ojo Magistrates’ Court for allegedly stealing 5 mattresses.

    The defendants — Godstime Ajayi,  37, Salisu Yahayah, 25, and Garba Samaila, 40 —  are dealing with a two-count cost of conspiracy and stealing earlier than Magistrate A. A. Adesanya.

    The first defendant pleaded not responsible, whereas the second and third couldn’t state their pleas due to language barrier

    Adesanya admitted the primary defendant to N150, 000 bail with two sureties in like sum.

    He mentioned that one of many sureties should be a relative, the opposite a priest.

    The Justice of the Peace, nevertheless, remanded the second and third defendants in police custody pending when the courtroom would supply an interpreter.

    Earlier the prosecutor, Insp. Uche Simeon, had advised the courtroom that the defendants dedicated the offences on Dec. 25 on the secondary faculty’s hostel in Lagos.

    He mentioned that Ajayi, the safety guard employed to protect the college, stole 5 mattresses and offered them to Yahayah and Samaila.

    Simeon mentioned that the defendants have been caught in possession of the mattresses by one other safety guard.

    He mentioned that the offences contravened sections 287 and 411 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.

    The Magistrate adjourned the case till Jan. 23, for listening to
