    Gov. Samuel Ortom of Benue mentioned herdsmen had killed over 20 individuals between Monday and Tuesday in Guma and brand native authorities areas of the state.

    Ortom disclosed this whereas briefing journalists on Tuesday in Makurdi after the State Security Meeting.

    He mentioned that out of the quantity, 9 have been Livestock Guards who have been to make sure the complete implementation of the Anti-Open Grazing Law.

    He mentioned that the regulation was not focused at any ethnic group and puzzled why the herdsmen had taken it so private to the purpose of unleashing terror on the individuals.

    The governor additionally lamented the unwarranted wanton destruction of lives and property by the herdsmen.

    He mentioned that irrespective of the intimidation and killings by the herdsmen, the regulation wouldn’t be reversed or repealed.

    Dr Gajir Tsoho of the Surgical Department, Benue State University Teaching Hospital, mentioned over 30 injured victims of the herdsmen assault have been delivered to the hospital and have been receiving remedy. (NAN)
