The National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN) and the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) have appealed to President Muhammadu Buhari to signal the Nigerian Peace Corps (NPC) Bill into legislation.
NYCN’s President, Mr Murtala Garba and NANS’ President, Mr Aruna Kadiri, made the plea whereas addressing newsmen on Thursday in Abuja.
Garba stated that NPC was a youth-based organisation important to tackling youth unemployment in Nigeria however had been constantly pissed off from contributing to nationwide improvement.
He stated that the core mandates of the corps have been to empower, develop and supply gainful employment for the youths; facilitate peace, volunteerism, patriotism, neighborhood companies neighbourhood watch and nation-building.
