    The Sokoto Command of Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps (NSCDC) has confirmed the loss of life of Assistant Inspector, Nafi’u Aliyu, throughout gun battle with cattle rustlers.

    The state Commandant, Mr Babangida Dutsinma, mentioned on Tuesday in Sokoto that the incident occurred in Rabah Local Government Area of the state.

    According to him, Aliyu sustained accidents that led to his loss of life after his group confronted cattle rustlers in a forest on Jan. 19.

    He nevertheless mentioned three cattle rustlers have been killed by the NSCDC group through the encounter.

    Meanwhile, the command has apprehended 4 individuals suspected to be specialists in vandalising electrical energy cables in Sokoto and Isa.

    He mentioned two of the suspects, have been arrested alongside Murstala Muhammad Specialist Hospital Sokoto whereas the opposite two have been arrested in Isa native authorities.

    The commandant mentioned the cables valued at N500, 000 have been recovered and that the suspects would quickly be arraigned.

    He recommended the state Ministry of Justice for its judicial help to the command and the residents for helping to trace cattle rustlers, kidnappers, vandals and different criminals throughout the state.

    “We obtained varied complaints on hoodlums’ actions and we responded to the safety threats instantly.

    “We urge folks to proceed to cooperate with safety personnel to make sure security of lives and property,’’ Dutsinma mentioned.

    He urged NSCDC personnel to not be distracted and stay targeted on their mandate. (NAN)
