In spite of the on-going strike, Kaduna state authorities has continued with its recruitment to interchange 25,000 lecturers that failed main 4 competency check.
As lecturers launched into industrial motion to protest towards the sack of the lecturers that failed the check, the federal government has concluded marking of scripts of 43,000 candidates who utilized to interchange the sacked lecturers.
The State Government on Tuesday mentioned the on-going strike organised by the Nigerian Union of Teachers (NUT) wouldn’t cease its training reform.
Mr. Samuel Aruwan, Senior Special Assistant, Media and Publicity to Gov. Nasiru El-Rufai, mentioned the state authorities wouldn’t enable unqualified lecturers in its faculties.
He mentioned the state authorities was decided to guard the way forward for the scholars as greater than two million pupils had been enrolled in public main faculties.
Aruwan recommended lecturers who reported to work despite efforts by the NUT to unlawfully stop them from working.
He mentioned the federal government had begun collation of reviews from training directors on lecturers and reiterated that lecturers who absented themselves from work can be sanctioned in response to the legislation.
“Appropriate reminder of the efficiency of those guidelines (legal guidelines) has been issued in earlier authorities statements.
“Across the state, the illegality of the NUT’s strike motion is being compounded by bodily makes an attempt to frustrate these lecturers who want to work.
“No law permits any worker to tamper with another’s right to work. The attention of the security agencies has been drawn to this dangerous pattern of conduct,” Aruwan mentioned.
The state authorities, had in 2017, set main 4 questions to check the competency of all the first college lecturers.
No fewer than 25,000 lecturers out of the 31,000 failed the examination and the federal government determined to have interaction new and certified lecturers to interchange those who failed the examination.
The union has kicked towards the choice of the federal government. (NAN)
