    (dpa/NAN) Official says 13,000 staff of the UNRelief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees within the Near East (UNRWA) on Monday started a one-day strike, protesting U.S. President Donald Trump’s determination to freeze funding to the company.

    Secretary-General of the UNRWA staff’ union Yousef Hamdouna advised reporters that the intention of the overall strike is to pressure donor states to stress the U.S. to reverse its determination.

    The UN company maintains 267 faculties and 21 well being centres within the coastal enclave, which has suffered huge financial collapse, worsened by infrastructure injury throughout three wars with Israel and a scarcity of provides.
