Veteran actor and comic, Chief Chika Okpala, popularly often called “Zebrudaya,’’ says the dearth of sponsorship have hindered manufacturing of most tv collection.
Okpala, aka Chief Zebrudaya Okoroigwe Nwogbo alias four:30, is famed in a TV comedy collection, Masquerade and the New Masquerade (1983-1993).
He alleged that the outdated standard cleaning soap collection “Masquerade’’, “Cockcrow at Dawn’’, “The Village headmaster’’ and others had been left to dwindle as a result of sponsors withdrew.
He advised the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Lagos on Thursday that the dwindling financial system was the key drawback of manufacturing.
The comic stated that the dearth of sponsorship had contributed to the dearth of programmes on Television stations.
“Foreign soaps like Mexican soaps, Telemundo, the Z-world and the remainder of them have flooded our TV screens now and ours are struggling.
“Those standard programmes, resembling Masquerade, Cockcrow at Dawn, The Village headmaster and others had been left to slide away,’’ he stated.
Actors, actresses, producers, administrators and the remainder of the Nollywood could be employed and folks could be entertained if these soaps had been nonetheless being aired.
