A Daura Road Upper Sharia Court in Kaduna, on Friday, ordered 19-year-old labourer, Anas Umar, be given 20 strokes of cane for stealing a Nokia telephone valued N4,000.
Umar, a resident of No 7, Magajin Aska Kabala Costain, Kaduna State, was convicted after pleading responsible to a one-count cost of theft.
The choose, Alhaji Aminu Jumare, gave the order after the convict pleaded responsible and begged the courtroom to mood justice with mercy.
