Former President Olusegun Obasanjo on Thursday formally registered as a member of the Coalition for Nigeria Movement (CNM), a gaggle now generally reffered to because the “third force”.
Obasanjo accomplished the membership type of the Movement and handed it over to former Governor of Osun State, Col. Olagunsoye Oyinlola (Rtd.), who’s the National Coordinator of the group.
The ceremony was held on the NUJ secretariat, Abeokuta.
The CNM, which was formally launched in Abuja on Wednesday, was the brainchild of Obasanjo, which he disclosed in his current letter to President Muhammadu Buhari.
While addressing newsmen and different attendees after his registration, Obasanjo expressed optimism that the group would assist to propel the nation ahead.
“I’m blissful to be a member of the Coalition for Nigeria Movement which is a motion for good governance.
“This is the graduation for our well-liked and grassroots affiliation.
“The membership might be free to collectively resolve on whether or not it would turn out to be a political occasion and if it decides to rework itself and go into partisan politics, I’ll stop to be a member.
“It is critical to make it clear that this new motion doesn’t regard itself as a 3rd power.
“It sees itself as a preferred motion that may accommodate all Nigerians no matter their political curiosity or affiliations and can propel Nigeria ahead,’’ he stated.
Obasanjo, who composed a brand new track for the nation, stated ‘I see a new Nigeria in the hands of God and we will all be witnesses of the emergence of a new Nigeria.’’
