The Northern States chapter of Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) on Thursday urged the Federal Government to arrest and prosecute perpetrators of current killings in Benue and Kaduna States.
The Chairman, Rev. Yakubu Pam, who condemned the assaults in a press assertion made obtainable to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Kaduna, mentioned the federal government also needs to take proactive measures to curb future incidence.
It mentioned the killing of the District Head of Numana in Kaduna state and 50 individuals in Benue was condemnable, disturbing and worrisome.
“We name for calm in each communities and enchantment to authorities to step up safety not solely in these victims’ communities however all the nation to forestall future killings.
“CAN is disturbed by allegations of security complacency and should be thoroughly investigated by the government to assuage already frayed nerves.”
The assertion assured the federal government of the Church help and urged church leaders nationwide to calm their members and report any menace to safety to legislation enforcement companies.(NAN)
