N173m Paris Club refund not misappropriated—Kuje council

    The Chairman of Kuje Area Council, Mr Abdulahi Galadima, has cleared the air on alleged misappropriation of N173m Paris Club refund by the council.

    A press release by the particular assistant to the chairman on Media and Publicity, Mr Haruna Usman, in Abuja mentioned that information making the rounds concerning the fund had been mere speculations.

    Usman quoted the chairman as saying that there have been accusations and complains on social media from former political appointees that the Paris Club refund had been diverted by the council administration.

    He mentioned that Galadima affirmed that he was correctly guided by the council’s head of administration and treasurer on the implementation of the template as contained within the round for the disbursement of the refunds.

    “The disbursement was a collective choice between the council legislative arm and the chief chairman to pay 100 per cent to the current political workplace holders together with the elected councilors.

    “This was additionally to allow the council administration to settle excellent liabilities by  the previous administration amounting to N 1.6billion.

    “I due to this fact debunk the accusations and hypothesis that the pinnacle of administration and the council treasurer misappropriated the refunds.

    “The council action to this effect is to ensure commitment and increase the attitudinal change in the present administration,” Galadima mentioned.

    According to the chairman, the council administration is dedicated to settling all of the excellent liabilities regardless of political variations.

    He mentioned that N173m, launched to FCT space councils by the FCT minister, was to settle the liabilities of each former and current political appointees.
